Engineers have estimated that the Tower of the Church may last only one year!
Mortar loss and damage by rain have caused instability to the structure of the
Tower walls both internally and externally. Without the ability to support itself,
the entire Steeple could collapse causing irreparable damage to the Church building
and walls. Thus a major fundraising campaign of $150,000 has begun to save the Tower of this precious heritage building. Restoration will begin in the spring of
2009 and be completed by summer. Phase II of our Fundraising Campaign to repair the Steeple and Roof is to follow.
The repair of the tower is now complete. Total Cost of the Repair is now $500,000. Fundraising is continuing.
